Project: Mural Graphics Advertisement of Jean Machine store opening at Yorkdale Mall
Material: Avery Dennison vinyl films, design by Jean Machine designers, printed at a local shop
Jean Machine, the Canadian denim retailer, closed all its stores by the end of February 2019. This closure marked the end of over four decades of business. The decision came after the company struggled with financial difficulties and a shifting retail landscape, ultimately filing for bankruptcy protection in January 2017. Despite efforts to restructure, including rent relief and attempts to reposition the brand, Jean Machine could not compete with both low-end and high-end denim markets
